Dalal Al-Abdulrazzak is the VP of Business Development and Chief Science Officer at Vericatch, where she is responsible for identifying and implementing strategic growth opportunities, as well as providing scientific leadership to align the company’s solutions with the needs of fisheries and the seafood supply chain. She has extensive experience working on marine conservation issues with diverse stakeholders including industry, policymakers, NGOs, and academia to effect positive change. She was formerly a Senior Scientist with the Ocean Wise Sustainable Seafood Programme, an Ocean Policy Analyst at UNDP, and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of British Columbia’s Fisheries Centre. Dalal is particularly interested in the role of technology in achieving the triple bottom line of sustainable fisheries, healthy marine ecosystems, and a thriving local economy. She has a BA in Environmental Studies from Middlebury College and a PhD in Fisheries from UBC. She was born and raised in Kuwait and currently resides in Vancouver, BC.
